Professor's point of view
By Amazon Customer
The book covers the subject matter expected of an AIS text. As a professor, I would have liked to have better instructor resources. There are only solutions manuals, power points (way too detailed, just like all textbook power point presentations are), and test banks. I would prefer something with a good instructor's manual, sample syllabus, etc. The chapters are organized a little weird. It's hard to get a good big-picture without going over things many, many times.

The most dry, boring, dull, and vague textbook I have ever read.
By Tamer
This textbook was used in my Accounting Information Systems class. It was very hard to recall, remember, or stay interested in anything this textbook covers. Examples are vague, the material is often very dense, and I am often left wondering what is intended to be taken away from each chapter. I can honestly say that after reading each chapter the class covered at least two times, I took away almost nothing from this book. It really feels like a waste of time to read. Instead, I had to rely on my instructor and the internet to learn anything. At the end of the class, our instructor asked for our opinions on the textbook. Not one person had a positive opinion. I hope our instructor decides on switching to a different textbook in future semesters.

If you can get around taking the class that requires this book DO IT!
By Chris Peterson
I would probably enjoy twisting rusty barbed wire around my privates more than reading this book. South-Western/Cengage Learning produces the worst textbook. The second time I've had to deal with their incompetence in their authors and the way they set up the pages and chapters with diagrams referenced 3 pages ahead or 5 pages back. Who reads like this???? This book will put you to sleep before you make it past page 2. Where's the hands on experience with using accounting information systems to go along with this book? Oh yeah its not there it doesn't exist because actually using a software web based application to experience the functioning of an accounting information system would make too much sense. These people fail at life. They must have paid off some high officials to get this crap pushed down the throats of students under the guise of important educational material. Waste of money and time and resources. May God have mercy on all your souls who produced this gibberish.
