Excellent and resonating description of the psychological/emotional aspects of the retirement transition with good advice.

As a recently retired clinical psychologist, I've read numerous books in the "adjusting to retirement" genre for personal and professional reasons. The psychological and emotional upheaval of this period of life transition is intense, significant, and not to be undertaken without a lot of soul searching and practical planning. This book resonated with me more than any I've read so far.....with explanations of the issues facing the new retiree, backed up by psychological research, described in easy to understand concepts and in a supportive, empathic, way. The author shows a deep understanding of the common conflicts and emotional reactions inherent in the retirement process and offers practical advice to deal with these that should be valuable to those new to the transition. Strongly recommended.

I got this at the library and liked it so much I bought one to read again. It s not just the typical retirement prep book discussing financial stuff. It is about the emotional and mental process. Great graphics and fun to read. DK rocks.

Interesting and easy to read book. More like a magazine with it's infographics, 2 page spreads with lots of bullets, charts and graphs. But still a good read and very worthwhile.
